Puppies Available Now
The live list. When a puppy goes it comes off this page, so what is here is here.
6 puppies available today: 5 males and 1 female, eight to eleven weeks old. Each is $650, and the photograph on every card is of that actual dog.
Reading the cards
Colour. Brindle, black or grey. What produces each one.
Ears. A filled marker means cropped, an outlined one means natural. Why the litter is split.
Age. Puppies go home from eight weeks and not before. Weeks six to eight are when a puppy learns bite inhibition and dog manners from its littermates, and taking that away causes problems that show up much later.
Price. $650 for any of them.
What each one has already done
Every puppy on this page is crate trained, has house training started, has been introduced to a collar and lead, and has been handled daily since the week it was born.
Feet, ears, mouth and tail get touched every day. A 100lb dog that objects to having its paws held is a genuine problem at the vet, and it is trivially preventable at eight weeks.
Reserving one
Tell us which and roughly where you are. We will tell you how it would travel, what that costs, and when it could go.
We will also ask about your household, and it is not a formality. A Corso in the wrong home is a problem for everybody, and we would rather have the awkward conversation now.
If a puppy is reserved it shows on its card here rather than being quietly removed, so you can see what has gone.
If none of them are right
Tell us what you are after. We run one litter at a time, so we can usually say what is coming and roughly when.
That is a better outcome than selling you a puppy that is not quite what you wanted. Colour, sex and ears all change litter to litter, and waiting eight weeks for the right dog is nothing across a twelve-year life.
Worth reading in the meantime: what the breed is like, how big they get, and what one costs to keep.
Choosing between them
Most buyers arrive with a colour in mind and leave having picked a different dog, which is the right way round.
Sex matters more than coat. Males finish larger and heavier, around 99 to 110lb, and tend to be slower to mature and more overtly territorial as adolescents. Females finish nearer 88 to 99lb, generally mature earlier, and are often the easier first year. Neither is friendlier or better with children as a rule, whatever you have read.
Ears matter more than coat too, because it changes how a dog looks far more than any colour does, and it is the one thing on this page you cannot change later.
Coat comes last. It has no bearing on temperament, on health, or on how a dog turns out. The size difference between males and females in full.
What we can tell you that the cards cannot
How each one behaves.
In any litter there is one that comes to the door first, one that hangs back and watches, one that plays hardest and one that settles quickest. That is genuinely useful information and it is the reason to write to us rather than just look at photographs.
Ask about a specific puppy and you will get an honest description, including if it is the pushiest in the litter and your household has a three-year-old in it. We would rather match the dog to the house than sell the one you pointed at.
What we will not do is guarantee an adult temperament from an eight-week-old. Nobody can. What happens in your house between now and sixteen weeks does at least as much work as anything we did. What that period involves at your end.
Why one goes at eight weeks and another at eleven
Eight weeks is the floor and we do not go below it. Weeks six to eight are when a puppy learns bite inhibition and dog manners from its littermates, and a puppy pulled early misses that and shows it later.
Past that, dates move for ordinary reasons. A cropped puppy waits until the ears are fully healed. A puppy travelling a long way in summer waits for a cooler window rather than crossing the desert in July. And occasionally one is simply slower to gain weight than its siblings and we hold it a week, which is not a problem but is a reason not to rush.
None of that changes the price and none of it is negotiable for our convenience. How the travel side works.
