How these three would do in California
The state runs from fog to desert, so the honest answer depends entirely on which part you are in. We raise puppies through an Inland Empire summer, which is at the harder end of it, so nothing we say about heat here is theoretical.
Nas, black, cropped ears. In California, a solid black coat absorbs more heat than any other, so shade and a dawn walk matter more for him than for his littermates. A standing ear collects more dust than a hanging one, so wipe what you can see after a windy week and leave the canal to a vet.
Vaiko, grey, natural ears. In California, grey is diluted black, so the coat runs slightly cooler than solid black, but skin under a diluted coat is the one that can burn if the coat ever thins. A hanging ear keeps dust out, which is worth something in dry air. Check it weekly anyway.
Ronnie, fawn brindle, natural ears. In California, a fawn base reflects more than the dark coats do, which makes her the easiest of this litter to manage in real heat. Dry air suits a hanging ear. There is very little to do beyond a weekly look.

Keeping a Cane Corso in California
Our home state, and the one with the widest range of climates in it. A Corso in San Francisco needs almost nothing in the way of heat management; the same dog in Bakersfield or Palm Springs needs a genuine summer routine.
The Inland Empire, where we are, runs hot from June to September, and we raise puppies through it. Walks at first light and after dark, shade and water in the yard, and the back of your hand on the pavement before you let a dog stand on it.
California prohibits cities from banning a breed outright, though it does allow breed-specific spay and neuter rules and some counties use them. The bigger obstacle here is the lease. Between rental density in Los Angeles and the Bay Area, HOA rules in newer developments, and homeowner insurers who exclude large guardian breeds by name, there are three separate places a hundred-pound dog can be refused. Get it in writing before you commit and we will hold a puppy while you do.
