Cane Corso Puppies for Sale in Florida
Raised at home in Riverside, California, and brought to Florida by flight nanny.
We are in Riverside, California, not in Florida, and we would rather say so than build a page pretending we are down the road from you. The hardest climate we send a dog into and the furthest south. Almost every Florida buyer takes a flight nanny, which removes three days of heat from the journey entirely.
How these three would do in Florida
Eight or nine months of heat with humidity behind it, which is the combination this breed handles worst of any in the country. It is entirely doable, and it means genuinely accepting an air-conditioned dog rather than intending to.
Vaiko, grey, natural ears. In Florida, grey is diluted black, so the coat runs slightly cooler than solid black, but skin under a diluted coat is the one that can burn if the coat ever thins. A hanging ear holds moisture against the canal, so a weekly look and a dry cloth after a bath is the whole routine.
Ronnie, fawn brindle, natural ears. In Florida, a fawn base reflects more than the dark coats do, which makes her the easiest of this litter to manage in real heat. Natural ears hang, so check them weekly and dry them properly after any swimming. Damp air is where ear trouble starts.
Koa, dark brindle, cropped ears. In Florida, a dark brindle sits close to black for heat absorption, so treat him the way you would treat a black dog. Cropped ears stand, so the canal ventilates, which is a real advantage where the air stays damp.
None of it is a reason to pick one over another, but in Florida it is worth knowing before your first July rather than during it.
Getting a puppy to Florida
At 2,400 to 2,750 miles the drive is 4 days, which is a long time in a vehicle for an eight-week-old dog. Most Florida buyers take a flight nanny instead: a courier who flies with the puppy in the cabin, holds it the whole way, and hands it to you at arrivals.
Door to door that is one day rather than four. You would be meeting the courier at Orlando, Tampa, Miami or Jacksonville, whichever is nearest you.
Never in a cargo hold. Not at this distance, not at any distance.
Where in Florida we have delivered
Orlando, Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale among others. Those are the ones we are asked about most. The flight lands in the same place wherever in Florida you live, so your town changes the drive at your end and nothing else.
The arrival point is Orlando, Tampa, Miami or Jacksonville, whichever is nearest you.
Keeping a Cane Corso in Florida
The most demanding climate we send a Corso into. Heat with high humidity, for eight or nine months in the south of the state, is precisely what a large short-coated dog handles worst.
It is entirely doable and there are plenty of Corsos living well in Florida. It requires a household that has genuinely accepted an air-conditioned dog with early and late walks, and it means the flight nanny rather than four days on the road, which removes most of the heat from the journey.
Florida has preempted breed-specific local ordinances since 1990, so your city cannot ban the breed. The condo and HOA layer is a different matter: deed restrictions on weight are common along the coast and a Corso clears every one of them. Those are private rules and the state preemption does not touch them.
Hurricane season is the other one. A hundred-pound dog is much harder to evacuate than a small one, and a crate-trained dog that loads without a fight is the difference between leaving in ten minutes and leaving in forty.
Other states we are asked about
We deliver to all fifty. These are the ones people write to us about most, and each page sets out the route and what the climate there asks of a dog like this.
Before you commit from Florida
Florida is 2,400 to 2,750 miles away, so ask for a video call before you commit to anything. We will do one with the puppy, at whatever hour works in your time zone.
Worth reading first if you are in Florida: the health picture across a life, and what to feed a dog this size, because diet shows up in coat and skin faster in a warm climate than anywhere else.
