Vaiko, grey, natural ears. In New York, grey against a grey winter afternoon is the hardest of these to spot at distance, so a bright collar earns its place here more than anywhere. A hanging ear is if anything the warmer option through a long winter, though neither shape troubles this breed.
Nas, black, cropped ears. In New York, a black coat is the one that picks up what winter sun there is, which on a bright day over snow is genuinely welcome rather than a problem. Cold asks nothing of a cropped ear. It is the pads and the road salt that need the attention here.
