How these three would do in Texas
Three climates and the advice differs in each. El Paso is dry desert and easy. Houston and the coast are the hard one, because humidity blocks the cooling a panting dog depends on. Ninety-five in Houston is harder work than a hundred and ten in El Paso.
Koa, dark brindle, cropped ears. In Texas, a dark brindle sits close to black for heat absorption, so treat him the way you would treat a black dog. A standing ear collects more dust than a hanging one, so wipe what you can see after a windy week and leave the canal to a vet.
Nas, black, cropped ears. In Texas, a solid black coat absorbs more heat than any other, so shade and a dawn walk matter more for him than for his littermates. Dry air and dust find a standing ear first. A wipe of the visible part now and then covers it.

Houston, Beaumont and the coast are the hard one, because humidity stops the evaporative cooling a panting dog relies on. A ninety-five degree day in Houston is harder on this breed than a hundred and five degree day in El Paso.
For the coastal third that means air conditioning through the middle of the day from May to September, and knowing what early heat stress looks like: heavy panting that does not settle, a dark red tongue, unsteadiness.
Texas prohibits its cities from regulating dogs by breed, so no Texas municipality can ban a Corso. The exception is privatised military base housing at Fort Cavazos, Fort Sam Houston and Fort Bliss, which restricts large guardian breeds by lease. A lease is not preempted by the statute, so if you are living on post the housing office is the only answer that counts.
